Training Specialist

Develops, analyzes and reports metrics for management. Works with STARLIMS professionals to develop training programs/events by defining requirements to address identified business needs. Manages resources as assigned to complete planned events. Tracks and manages the budget for assigned projects. Develops and executes communication strategies to ensure that the targeted audience is aware of the event and the mechanisms to participate.

The Role:

  • Works with Commercial and Marketing to set course pricing and discounts.
  • Works with Sales Operations to ensure price lists and training catalog is up to date.
  • Required to determine priorities to meet short-term and long-term objectives, and determine what actions require upper management’s review and input.
  • Employee is accountable for providing and implementing global training.
  • This training can directly impact divisional goals and objectives.
  • Will have external and internal customer interactions including interface with various levels of management including DVPs and VPs.
  • Will participate in internal or external audits pertaining to training and training documentation.
  • Responsible for training external and internal customers on STARLIMS products.
  • Align the STARLIMS Academy process to deliver standardized certified training in all regions.
  • Manage training resources in the region, assigning and scheduling trainer resources to satisfy requests for public, online and onsite training events in the region.
  • Coordinate with other regions to use other region resources in order to fulfill training events requests.
  • Maintain a web presence for Training events in the region offering Self-Paced Training, At Abbott, Online and Onsite training delivery options.
  • Manage students’ registrations, Quote and PO follow up for training.
  • Contributes to the development and delivery of course content through appropriate methodology for customer personnel in the installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of their STARLIMS solutions

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a Training function or equivalent; preferably in a regulated environment. Must be knowledgeable of Quality System Regulations and corporate policy requirements to ensure compliance and consistency across the corporation. Must have a minimum of two years of project management experience.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Education, Healthcare or 2 years’ experience in adult training.
