Global Payroll Specialist

As a Global Payroll Specialist, you’ll manage payroll processes for our offices around the globe. You’ll also act as the main point of contact for both employees and external vendors regarding payroll issues, so a strong service-oriented approach and a high sense of urgency are critical. This is a fantastic opportunity that would suit an ambitious, motivated payroll professional who is willing and interested in getting involved with helping the team.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the International Payroll Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Process biweekly US and Canadian payrolls, as well as monthly international payrolls for 11 countries globally
  • Process biweekly US and Canadian payrolls, as well as monthly international payrolls for 11 countries globally
  • Process changes in our ADP WFN (Global HRIS and US Payroll) and ADP Celergo (Global Payroll) systems including new hire onboarding paperwork, department transfers, salary changes, terminations, deduction and earning changes and other payroll/benefit changes
  • Review and certify international payroll transactions to ensure all recommended payments accurately reflect current compensation levels and withholdings in accordance with local labor laws and requirements
  • Reconcile final payroll liabilities for accounting and download data for general ledger
  • Process post-payroll benefit funding reports and audits for the biweekly US payroll
  • Communicate professionally and regularly with international payroll support vendors to ensure timely, accurate processing, and knowledge of local requirements
  • Process and record payroll and related transactions in accordance with monthly deadlines
  • Institute, follow and audit tight process controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Research and propose resolution of any data conflicts that impact payroll processing
  • Communicate irregularities or issues to the Director and Controller timely
  • Monitor global time collection and conduct timesheet audits as needed to resolve payroll issues
  • Process approved pay adjustments as needed
  • Collect and provide reports and other supporting documentation for internal and/or external audit preparation
  • Monitor and distribute payroll reports ensuring consistency of all domestic and overseas reports• Ensure global leave balances are accurately recorded and reported
  • Continuously review payroll processes and procedures to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and reliability
  • Work with ADP to ensure filing compliance, response to tax notices, and maintaining good account standing for the US payroll
  • Act as the main point of contact for employee questions regarding payroll in all offices
  • Complete global year-end tax processes, audits, reconciliations, and amendments
  • Understanding of each country’s fiscal year and general accepted accounting
  • Perform other HR and Payroll related projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 4 years of experience processing payroll; international payroll experience preferred
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office), including strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines consistently, and to take ownership of role
  • Ability to learn quickly and keep abreast of developments
  • An ability to think laterally and follow things through
  • Discretion and ability to deal appropriately with confidential data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated STRONG analytical skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
