Business Consultant

The Role
The business consultant will be responsible for assisting the Sales Team in achieving annual revenue objectives. Key tasks will be to assist with RFIs/RFPs, technical and functional responses, and develop successful integrated solution demonstrations as they apply to customer/prospect needs. The business consultant will also interact with Professional Services, Product Management, Sales Ops, Marketing, and Support. This position is a very visible and will influence customer purchase decisions. This individual will consider financial and customer implications as part of decision making.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a high level of integrity and honesty. They will keep commitments and present information completely and accurately to both internal and external customers. They will also monitor and maintain customer satisfaction through direct contact. Lastly, they will display effective oral and written communication to accomplish business goals and foster building customer rapport and relationships.
- Assist with RFIs/RFPs, technical and functional responses.
- Develop and deliver best of breed solution demonstrations and presentations of STARLIMS products, as part of a complete, integrated solution.
- Assist sales executives, account managers, and enterprise account managers in developing LIMS sales strategies.
- Understand the needs and requirements of customers and be able to clearly link these to standard STARLIMS functionality.
- Strong knowledge in all aspects of the STARLIMS standard products including core functionality.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and other STARLIMS products to support the sales team.
- Understanding of the workflows in the clinical, chemical, pharmaceutical, environmental, or similar industries.
- Anticipates, identifies, and meets internal and external customer needs and requests; negates and resolves conflicts; maintains a professional demeanor, even under stressful conditions.
Qualifications
- BA in Science/Eng.
- 3 years Industry experience in a laboratory or science-based industry with knowledge of Laboratory Informatics.
- Working in an enterprise software environment.
- Knowledge of Laboratory Informatics Laboratory experience and/or knowledge of laboratory business process, logistics, and related informatics requirements.
- Track record of delivering professional technical demonstrations to customers.
- Basic experience with SQL-compliant databases, especially Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server products, is an advantage.
