Job Description

The Federal Reserve is seeking an Examiner who can lead and participate in examinations of state member banks. As an Examiner-in-Charge (EIC), an examiner is responsible for developing and executing effective strategies to assess the financial condition and risk at regional and community banks as well as non-traditional financial institutions.

Highlights of Responsibilities:

Leads analyses and/or directs the work of teams as an EIC, particularly in the examination of high-risk, high-profile, or non-traditional institutions, the focus of which may include but is not limited to:

  • Assessing an institution’s internal controls, including internal audit, policies, procedures, and risk monitoring systems.
  • Assessing an institution’s level of compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assessing the quality of management and boards of directors.
  • Identifying signs of significant, systemic concerns within financial institutions, briefing senior Reserve Bank leaders and management as well as offering mitigating or monitoring solutions.

Qualifications

  • An examination commission issued by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System or other federal agency is required.
  • An examination commission issued by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System or other federal agency is required.
  • Typically 4 or more years of relevant experience in banking, the financial industry, or banking supervision.
